• 200+ Community Trips – half of which foster specific communities including Age 50+, LGBTQIA Pride, BIPOC, EveryBODY, and Women & Genderqueer

Educate

• 12,000+ Youth Experiences Outdoors  through Outdoor Learning Lab, Summer Camps, and Aftercare programs
• 12 BIPOC Paddlers trained in our first LEAD Paddling Program
• 75+ Trained and Certified Outdoor Educators and Volunteer Trip Leaders so they can lead our programs as well as share their knowledge throughout their own communities

Equip

• 225 Fishing Poles – creating hundreds of fishing opportunities across southwest PA
• 178 Kayaks, Sups, and Canoes – creating thousands of paddling experiences at our three locations
• 6 Mountain Bikes used at our women & genderqueer mountain bike clinics
• Expanded adaptive gear at all three Kayak Pittsburgh Locations
• Plus Snowshoes, Youth Bikes, Helmets, Headlamps, Paddles, PFDs, Binoculars, Microscopes, GPS Units, First Aid Kits, Adaptive Gear + more!

Celebrating 10 years of Venture Outdoors Learning Lab!

Did you know, we create over 12,000 outdoor experiences annually for youth all across the city? Many of you know us from our Kayak Pittsburgh rentals, or perhaps our community hikes – but a large portion of our work focuses on teaching youth outdoors.

For 10 years we’ve partnered with schools, afterschool programs, and community centers to get kids hiking, biking, kayaking, and learning outdoors. We teach them that the outdoors is a place for everyone.
