Age 50+ Moderate Hike with Kim – Jennings

The July moderate hike takes place in Jennings, along the Wood Whisper Loop. The This ancient prairie ecosystem is incredibly rare in Pennsylvania and will be in full bloom for our excursion. This series of hikes was designed by Venture Outdoors and friend/Trip Leader Kim (@kim.hiked.it ). It is for folks age 50+ who are currently active and can comfortably walk 3 miles over varied terrain. Please make sure that you are signing up for an appropriate level of difficulty. Trip Leader: Kim is a mom of five who is working toward a goal of hiking all 124 Pennsylvania State Parks. During that process, she has gained a strong following of folks who are invested in her goal and interested in her unique perspective on the trails, their assets and their shortcomings (ask her about killer flies!). She has curated this series of hikes for experience hikers, age 50+ who are looking to explore the Pittsburgh region in locations maybe they haven’t frequented as often.

Activity level: Intermediate  

Distance: 2.5-4mi (depending on pace of group)

Starting Location: Jennings Environmental Center

Ticket Sales Close: Thursday July 18th at Noon

Please arrive 15 minutes before the start time to ensure that the trip gets underway on time. Dress for the weather (Venture Outdoors trips proceed rain or shine!), bring water and wear comfortable closed toe shoes.
