Age 50+ Moderate Hike with Kim – Jennings

Description/ What to Expect: The August moderate hike takes place in Montour Woods along Meeks Run and Oil Well. This lush natural space features a large variety of wildlife and waterfalls. This series of hikes was designed by Venture Outdoors and friend/Trip Leader Kim (@kim.hiked.it ). It is designed for folks age 50+ who are currently active and can comfortably walk 3 miles over varied terrain. Please make sure that you are signing up for an appropriate level of difficulty. If you are a beginner or need to build up your stamina, we recommend the Age 50+ Walk & Learn Series.

Trip Leader: Kim is a mom of five who is working toward a goal of hiking all 124 Pennsylvania State Parks. During that process, she has gained a strong following of folks who are invested in her goal and interested in her unique perspective on the trails, their assets and their shortcomings (ask her about killer flies!). She has curated this series of hikes for experience hikers, age 50+ who are looking to explore the Pittsburgh region in locations maybe they haven’t frequented as often.

Please arrive 15 minutes before the start time to ensure that the trip gets underway on time. Dress for the weather (Venture Outdoors trips proceed rain or shine!), bring water and wear comfortable closed toe shoes.
