FreeFriday the 13th Hike
Kick off your weekend with a hike through the beautiful and historic Homewood Cemetery in Pittsburgh’s east end. Bordered by Frick Park, this beautiful green space houses some of Pittsburgh’s oldest trees and tons of wildlife. Many members of the Wilkins, Frick and Heinz families have been buried here, with towering gravestones and mausoleums to mark the site. Artists Teenie Harris and Mac Miller were laid to rest here, overlooking scenic rolling hills.
Trip Leader: Bill C is a passionate hiker, leading our popular Accessible via Public Transit series. He plans to create a walking tour that not only highlights the interesting families and history found at Homewood Cemetery, but also the beautiful plant life.
