Green Friday (on the Green Trail) Hike

Ditch the deals, embrace the trails! This Black Friday let’s choose a different kind of spree. Instead of battling crowds and fighting for deals, let’s celebrate the beauty of nature with a family-friendly Green Friday hike on North Park’s Green Trail, which features some uneven terrain and some scattered gentle hills.  We’ll enjoy the fresh air, stunning scenery, and the company of fellow nature lovers. Dress for the weather, and let’s work off that Thanksgiving feast! This hike is perfect for all abilities (kids are encouraged!) and a great way to take a break from consumerism and reconnect with the world around us. Let’s make this a Green Friday a day to remember!

Activity level: Level 2 – Easy

What to Bring: Bring sturdy shoes for walking on trails, a water bottle, and consider bringing hiking poles (they’re recommended but not required).

Starting Location: St Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Parking Lot 

10301 Walter Rd, Wexford, PA 15090

This is an old-fashioned single steeple church house with a white washed exterior, located on the bend on Walter’s Road. Across the street are two pavilions and a large parking lot with ample parking. We will meet in the parking lot and the trail head starts just off the backend of the lot.

Please arrive 15 minutes before the start time to ensure that the trip gets underway on time. Dress for the weather (Venture Outdoors trips proceed rain or shine!), bring water and wear comfortable closed toe shoes. By purchasing a ticket, you acknowledge that you are physically able to undertake the activity described above.
