Phantom Paddle – Saturday October 5th 3-5pm

The River Wraith of the Allegheny (aka The Steel City Phantom) is a supernatural being, reputed to be responsible for many mysterious and questionable deaths on our fair city’s three rivers. Buckle up that PFD as we learn some of these spine-tingling tales while paddling through the mist.

Trip Leader: Community Programs Manager 

Activity level: Intermediate, Some paddling experience required

What to Bring: Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting wet. If it’s a cooler afternoon or evening, wool is your friend as it’s naturally water repellant can keep your toes cozy!

Starting Location: Exact location TBD. We’ll introduce ourselves and cover the basics of kayaking. Once everyone is equipped with a boat, paddle, and life jacket, we’ll paddle out to explore the Allegheny River together at a relaxed pace.

Please arrive 15 minutes before the start time to ensure that the trip gets underway on time. Dress for the weather (Venture Outdoors trips proceed rain or shine!) and bring water. By reserving a ticket, you acknowledge that you are physically able to undertake the activity described above.
