Activity level: This is a slow paced, self-guided paddle for two participants to view the city from the water. The Allegheny River is a large slow moving river with the potential for wind and various other environmental factors. 

What to Bring: While we do our best to avoid capsizes they are always possible. You may get dripped on or splashed occasionally. It is best to wear clothes that dry quickly that are comfortable and shoes/water shoes that can get wet.  

Distance: Distance traveled will vary as needed within the rental time. 

Starting Location: We will meet and the Heinz Quay boat launch located adjacent to the Acrisure Stadium below the Fred Rogers Statue. Paid parking is available along North Shore drive and in the Carnegie Science Center lot.

Additional Information:  A pair of solo sit-inside kayaks will allow a more enjoyable paddling experience on an upcoming trip.

Restrooms and drinking fountains are located at the Carnegie Science Center cafe entrance near the bike trail adjacent to the U.S.S. Requin Submarine exhibit (open 10AM – 5PM daily).
