Winter Hike Series: North Park
Ready for a little more challenge in your outdoor adventures? Join experienced Trip Leader Mara for the second hike in our Winter Hike Series – a journey through the trails of North Park, featuring moderate inclines and a welcoming atmosphere.
As a ten-year Venture Outdoors veteran and breast cancer survivor, Mara understands the transformative power of nature and is passionate about creating inclusive experiences for adventurers of all abilities. Her encouragement and expertise will inspire you every step of the way.
This two-mile hike follows sections of the Blue and White trails and includes short, gradual inclines, perfect for building fitness and confidence while gently stepping out of your comfort zone. Enjoy the company of nature lovers as we move together at a comfortable group pace.
Hiking poles are optional and can provide extra support on the slopes, but they’re not required—bring them if you’d like!

Starting Location: Pie Traynor Field Parking Lot near the restrooms (40°35’13.8″N 79°59’24.9″W)
Please arrive 15 minutes before the start time to ensure that the trip gets underway on time. Dress for the weather (Venture Outdoors trips proceed rain or shine!), bring water and wear comfortable closed toe shoes.
