Age 50+: Accessible via Public Transit Hikes

This series of hikes was put together with accessibility, inclusivity and sustainability in mind. Every hike in this series is accessible by public transit. We encourage folks to think of each hike as an opportunity to decrease their carbon footprint and enjoy the great outdoors!

This series of hikes was designed for folks age 50+ who are currently active and can comfortably walk 3 miles over varied terrain, which can include (but is not limited to) stairs, hills, uneven ground, etc). Please make sure that you are signing up for an appropriate level of difficulty. If you are a beginner or need to build up your stamina, we recommend the Age 50+ Walk & Learn Series.

Trip Leader: Bill is a 48-year old outdoor enthusiast who loves hiking, running, biking, kayaking and exploring unique and unusual places. He has curated this hike for experienced hikers, age 50+ who are looking to explore the Pittsburgh region in locations maybe they haven’t frequented as often.

Activity level: Varies by Location, please see specific event description.
