Goat Fest Hike

July 27 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

$10.00

Goat Fest Hike

Join Friends of the South Side Park for a moderately paced 2.5 mile hike and learn about the fascinating history of the 65 acre Park bordering the South Side Flats, Slopes and Arlington neighborhoods. We will learn about the old St. Clair Incline that burned down in 1935, the former ice rink and the former Sankey Brick Factory among many other historical uses of the park. We will talk about the important restoration work that is taking place with the help of goats and learn about future improvements to the park.

Though we likely won’t get to spend time with the goats during the hike, it will wrap-up for the start of Goat Fest with lots of activities including live music, a petting zoo, food trucks, goats in action and more!

Some previous hiking experience required as this route includes some steep hills and rough terrain.

Starting Location: Near 21st and Josephine St, Pittsburgh, PA 15203
Activity Level: Level 3 Moderate
Distance: 2.5

Please arrive 15 minutes before the start time to ensure that the trip gets underway on time. Dress for the weather (Venture Outdoors trips proceed rain or shine!), bring water and wear comfortable closed toe shoes. By reserving a ticket, you acknowledge that you are physically able to undertake the activity described above.
