Can I switch which program my child is in?

We will happily support any changes in a family’s summer schedule. Please reach out at least two weeks prior to start of your camp week. If there is space available in a camp that you would like to switch your child to, we can do so for a $25 administrative charge. Please contact jody@ventureoutdoors.org to make a change.

Will you offer aftercare after 4:00pm?

There will be no aftercare available this year.

What accommodations can you make for my child?

We encourage all parents to closely review each camp description, which outlines our Safety & Wellbeing Expectations and Camp Criteria to consider if a camp is a good fit for your child.

After registration, you (the parent) will be sent a Camper Wellbeing Paperwork Packet to complete for your child, where you can outline special accommodations and needs. We will do our best to provide accommodations providing it does not change the nature of the event activities. There is a minimum of two weeks notice needed for special accommodation considerations.

What is your cellphone and electronics policy?

Cellphones
We do not allow campers to use cell phones during camp time. Campers will be instructed to keep their cell phone in their backpack during camp time. Electronics
We do not allow campers to use handheld electronics during camp time. Campers will be asked to not bring devices (iPads, laptops, Nintendo Switch, etc.) to camp. If they are brought to camp, campers will be instructed to keep their electronic devices in their backpack during camp time. If a camper is still using electronics after a warning from a staff member, the staff member will hold onto the device for the remainder of the day and return it to a parent during pick up time.

What happens if we have bad weather?

Camp is NOT typically canceled due to inclement weather. Inclement weather or water flow may affect which recreational activities your camper will participate during the week. We take weather and camper safety seriously, revising our activity schedule and seeking shelter when needed. All locations have a safety shelter for inclement weather. During periods of inclement weather, campers will participate in indoor activities, like team-building, crafts, games and more.
