This July we feature the unique neighborhood of Hazelwood. Meeting point will be determined closer to the time of the event. This hike is part of a series lead by Laura Zurowski, one of the authors of the upcoming book Pittsburgh’s Ups and Downs: Exploring History by the City Steps. While breaks will be taken along the route, but these urban hikes are designed for folks who are accustomed to the challenges of significant elevation gains.
You are also invited to stay for lunch afterward at Hazelwood Cafe. A 15% discount will be given to all registrants!
Trip Leader: Laura Zurowski is a technical writer at the University of Pittsburgh. Since 2017, she has published Mis.Steps: Our
Missed Connections with Pittsburgh’s City Steps, a public space documentation project of Pittsburgh’s public
stairways. Laura graduated from Emerson College, where she studied marketing and communication, and Harvard
University’s Graduate School of Education, where she received a Master’s in Education, Planning, and Social Policy
