Age 50+ History Hikes: Pittsburgh City Steps with Laura Zurowski
This incredible series details the history of the Pittsburgh Steps and how they helped shape the industry and culture around the three rivers. The hikes will be lead by Laura Zurowski, one of the authors of the upcoming book City Steps of Pittsburgh: A History & Guide. While breaks will be taken along the route, but these urban hikes are designed for folks who are accustomed to the challenges of significant elevation gains. Skill level is moderate.

Laura Zurowski is a technical writer at the University of Pittsburgh. Since 2017, she has published Mis.Steps: Our Missed Connections with Pittsburgh’s City Steps, a public space documentation project of Pittsburgh’s public stairways. Laura graduated from Emerson College, where she studied marketing and communication, and Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education, where she received a Master’s in Education, Planning, and Social Policy.
