Age 50+ Advanced Hikes with Tory (Hartwood Acres, 5.5mi Loop) 

Description/ What to Expect: Strap on your boots and get ready to get sweaty on this 5.5 mile hike with Backpacker Tory Mather. This lush trail is truly spectacular this time of year, as the autumn begins to show itself in the crisp morning air and the change in foliage. This hike was designed for folks Age 50+ who have experience hiking and can comfortably walk 6 miles.

Trip Leader: Tory (@torytalkstrails) is a local outdoor experience specialist. Her Pittsburgh-focused appreciation of the Pennsylvania natural beauty drives her content. Her desire to highlight the importance of local adventures & community building brought her to Venture Outdoors. 

Activity level: This is an advanced hike designed for folks with experience hiking and who can comfortably walk 6 miles.  

What to Bring: Please pack a lunch. We will have a break worked into the hike for rest and refueling. We recommend trekking poles and waterproof boots with a deep tread, as this trail can get muddy.

Please arrive 15 minutes before the start time to ensure that the trip gets underway on time. Dress for the weather (Venture Outdoors trips proceed rain or shine!), bring water and wear comfortable closed toe shoes.
