Experience Pittsburgh’s unique waterways from a seat in one of our 8-seat barges, a stable option for those who want to go on an adventure atop (and not IN) the waters of the Allegheny River. Novices of any age can arrive at the dock and in minutes be on the water with an oar in their hands. No need to introduce boat handling on the first day. People can board more easily and enjoy the stability provided by the dual hulls. Venture Outdoors’ own Molly Campe (a rower herself!) will ride along with the team and an expert coach from Three Rivers Rowing will offer instruction. This incredible workout on the water will be made even more delightful by the incredible nature to be seen: blue herons, osprey’s, turtles and (if you get lucky!) a beaver. Not to mention that iconic Pittsburgh skyline!

This 8-week series will introduce you to rowing: form, vocabulary, equipment and safety will all be covered.
