Birding By Kayak

Embark on a captivating birding adventure by kayak with Venture Outdoors!  Before setting off, excursionists will offer comprehensive on-land instruction on kayak equipment, basic strokes, and safety guidelines. Volunteer trip leader and bird enthusiast, David Bennett, will help you get to know some of the many bird species that make their home around North Park Lake.

During the excursion, keep your eyes peeled for a variety of fascinating avian species. Some potential species we may have the pleasure of observing and learning about include the Great Blue Heron, Wood Duck, Green Heron, Osprey, Belted Kingfisher, Eastern Kingbird, Phoebe, Flicker, and Cedar Waxwing. If we’re lucky, we might even spot a Bald Eagle!

Join us for an unforgettable journey around North Park Lake as we scan the shoreline in search of these magnificent feathered creatures.
