Come with us on a bike ride that will lead you in circles!

North Park is home to a beautiful five-mail trail that circles the scenic 75-acre North Park Lake, home of our own Kayak Pittsburgh. Beginning and ending at the Boathouse, we will be cycling the trail twice, for a total of a ten-mile ride. Participants have the option of dropping at the parking lot after the initial five-mile trip. Expect several hills of varying lengths and grades; this is a no-drop ride, and folks will be encouraged to take the hills at their own pace. We want participants to enjoy themselves and not feel pressured during this adventure. You will never be rushed, we will always wait for you at the top, and participants will be welcome to let trip leaders know if a rest is needed.

This well-maintained trail is mostly on asphalt surfaces, allowing a smooth ride within protected bike lanes. Participants must be comfortable riding in bike lanes on a road shared with moving traffic. Though we will be riding in daylight hours, using reflective materials and lights is an excellent practice and recommended for safety. Bike helmets are required, and bike and helmet rental are not included.

Please arrive 15 minutes before the start time to ensure that the trip gets underway on time. Dress for the weather (Venture Outdoors trips proceed rain or shine!), bring water and wear comfortable closed toe shoes.
