Dead Man’s Hollow Hike

Enjoy a beautiful and scenic hike in the largest privately protected conservation area in Allegheny County. The Hollow was the site of a thriving industrial area over 100 years ago that vanished after a fire and is the home of many mysterious tales. We will have the opportunity to check out some of the ruins, climb the Enchanted Staircase, and learn about some of the hollow’s legends of natural disasters, murder and accidental deaths.

We will cover approximately 5 miles on this moderately challenging trail with about 550 feet of elevation gain. We will be covering trails that may have uneven terrain, rocks, roots and muddy sections.
