Earth Day Stewardship Hike

Join Venture Outdoors and the dedicated volunteers of Pretty Up Beechview for a day of adventure and community service in celebration of Earth Day!

We’ll start off in the park, reviewing instructions and safety details, and then proceed to pick up litter around the park. We’ll continue on an easy paced hike through Pittsburgh’s hidden gem, Seldom Seen Greenway, picking up any trash we encounter along the way, covering no more than 3 miles. There will be some hills and potentially some muddy conditions on the trail. Once we’ve completed the hike, we’ll continue litter pickup in the neighborhood of Beechview if time allows.

Gloves, trash bags, and trash pickers will be provided.

Difficulty Level: Level 2/3 – Easy-Moderate

Starting Location: Tropical Park in Beechview (Near Tropical Ave & Shadycrest Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15216)

Please arrive 15 minutes before the start time to ensure that the trip gets underway on time. Dress for the weather (Venture Outdoors trips proceed rain or shine!), bring water and wear comfortable closed toe shoes.
