Creekside Winter Walk

Enjoy unseasonably warm winter weather, with temperatures expected to be in the low 50s, as we explore the Thornburg Conservation Area. This 38-acre park, acquired by Thornburg Borough in 2005 from the historic Crafton Golf Course, offers a unique exploration opportunity. Our journey will take us along the Western side of Chartiers Creek, leading towards Carnegie. While we may encounter some muddy conditions on this hike, the elevation gain will be minimal.

Difficulty Level: Level 2 – Easy
Distance: 3.5 miles
Starting Location: Parking near past the Thornburg Public Works Building at 25 Rutgers Road (40°26’09.6″N 80°04’49.9″W)

Please arrive 15 minutes before the start time to ensure that the trip gets underway on time. Dress for the weather (Venture Outdoors trips proceed rain or shine!), bring water and wear comfortable closed toe shoes.
