Birding By Kayak

Join Venture Outdoors for a birding adventure by kayak at North Park Lake!  Before setting off, excursionists will offer comprehensive on-land instruction on kayak equipment, basic strokes, and safety guidelines. Volunteer trip leader and Master Birder, David Bennett, will help you get to know some of the many bird species that make their home around North Park Lake. Fellow Master Birder, John Dzikiy will assist in identifying birds.

Last year, The the group saw and/or heard 39 species of birds including 18 Wood Ducks, 6 King Birds, Cedar Waxwings, 3 Green Heron, 2 Spotted Sandpiper, 3 Great Blue Heron, and 3 Kingfisher. Osprey and Hawks were actively flying overhead.

Standard ticket includes kayak rental, paddle, PFD, and binoculars.
