Family Fishing – Rices Landing
September 25, 2022 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
FreeFamily Fishing – Rices Landing
Join us for this Pop-Up Family Fishing Program at Rices Landing, Greene County.
We’ll provide the rods, bait, and instruction on this relaxed fishing program. Stop by anytime between 11:00am – 1:00pm. We will be fishing on the Monongahela River and have the chance to catch all sorts of fish – bass, carp, catfish, and more! No prior fishing experience needed and great activity for all ages. Along with fishing you will have the chance to learn some basic fishing knots, aquatic species IDs, and more.
Never fished before? No problem! Our staff will be able to teach you the basics of fishing from casting, baiting your hook, and hopefully reeling in your first catch!
Seasoned angler? You are always welcome! If you prefer to use some of your favorite personal gear, we can supply you with anything else you could need.
SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT FISHING LICENSES
We WILL have a Fishing Skills Instructor on site during the program, so licenses will not be needed for participants 16+ years old!
Adaptive fishing gear that can be used upon request, including rod holders for chairs/wheelchairs and wrist supports. Please e-mail Amanda at AWesterlund@ventureoutdoors.org to reserve adaptive gear.
This project is supported by the R3 Education Grant Program, administered by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, through a grant awarded by the R.K. Mellon Foundation. This program is also generously supported by EQT.
