South Side Art and Beer Hike

Public art has long been a source of community pride on Pittsburgh’s South Side. It’s such a big part of the area that an entire section of the Three Rivers Heritage Trail has been dedicated to showcasing colorful artistic expression.

Join us on this two-hour urban hike as we explore some of the best public art the South Side has to offer. From the graffiti glory of the Color Park to various statuary, mosaics, and building-size murals, there is a reason why former Steeler and current public artist Baron Batch calls this area home.

We plan to end the outing at the Highline, home of venture Outdoors, which is situated next to the Color Park Parking Lot. Participants are welcome to join trip leaders for an optional drink and/or food after the outing at the newly opened Sly Fox Brewery.

This brisk outing will cover approximately 4-5 miles of trails, sidewalks, and city streets. We plan to stay in the Flats, but it is Pittsburgh, and there will be some inclines. Bring your walking shoes, your camera, and your sense of wonder and adventure!
