West End History Hike
December 4, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
$12.00 – $15.00West End History Hike
Just downstream of the famous confluence of Pittsburgh’s rivers, is an area of town that has many steep, tree covered hills hosting some of the best views this region has to offer. Tucked away behind iconic Mt. Washington, Pittsburgh’s West End and Elliott neighborhoods have a quiet, almost country type feel to them, and are ripe for exploration! Not only does this semi mountainous terrain host a lot of parks, green spaces, city staircases and wildlife, but it is loaded with some of Pittsburgh’s earliest and most exciting history as well.
Join living historian and outdoor enthusiast, John McNullty, who has lived in this part of town for almost two decades as we climb up and down several sets of staircases including a stop at the West End Overlook while learning details about the early period of Pittsburgh’s history.
We’ll provide hiking poles for all participants.
