Dead Man’s Hollow Hike

Join us for a welcoming and supportive experience in collaboration with Pittsburgh FAST a fitness organization dedicated to providing free active events and recovery resources to the Pittsburgh sober community.

Enjoy a beautiful and scenic hike in the largest privately protected conservation area in Allegheny County. The Hollow was the site of a thriving industrial area over 100 years ago that vanished after a fire and is the home of many mysterious tales. We will have the opportunity to check out some of the ruins and climb the Enchanted Staircase.

We will cover approximately 5 miles on this moderately challenging trail with about 550 feet of elevation gain. We will be covering trails that may have uneven terrain, rocks, roots and muddy sections.

Please arrive 15 minutes before the start time to ensure that the trip gets underway on time. Dress for the weather (Venture Outdoors trips proceed rain or shine!), bring water and wear comfortable closed toe shoes.
